Pitbulls tend to approach every activity vigorously and eating is not an exception.  They tend to devour their food so quickly that they skip chewing, which leads to a myriad of issues including diarrhea, gas and bloat.  Bloat is extremely dangerous and can kill your pet within an hour.  If you feed high-protein, low-grain kibble, bloat is more easily prevented.  If you feel that your Pitbull is eating too swiftly, feed them smaller amounts more times a day.  Also, prevent them from exercising immediately after eating as this causes their stomach to sway within their abdomen.
